Everyone wants to know how much does the Childbirth Class cost...My class is $150.00 for the full 4 week series.  A $50.00 deposit is required to reserve your place in class.  The remaining fee is due the first class.  Payment arrangements can be made for an additional $25.00  The classes are taught in Fort Worth.

  I provide childbirth education for couples in the Fort Worth, Dallas and surrounding areas.  My Childbirth preparation class differs somewhat from what you will find in the popular and hospital based courses.  I have worked diligently to design a class that meets the needs of modern birthing couples.  If you are looking for a natural birth or planning more intervention for your labor and birth my class will fit your needs.

 The couples childbirth education classes are taught in my home one evening a week.  I teach a 4 week series with each class lasting 3 hours.  This series is geared toward the natural progression of labor and how to help facilitate a positive natural birth experience.  Two additional class covering hospital interventions, how they affect labor, and how to avoid them with more detail than my 4 week series has time to cover is also available for an additional fee.  I also offer separate breastfeeding and newborn care classes which cover more than the class time allows.   Often class goes a bit over in order to meet the needs of the couples in class.  My husband Adolfo sits in on each session as we feel his input really helps the dads to see where they fit in with this process and provides a valuable male perspective to our unique course. 

  In most natural childbirth classes you will learn basic pregnancy and birth anatomy, what is happening to mom's and babies bodies to prepare for birth, signs and symptoms of each stage of labor, coping techniques for each stage of labor, how mom's labor partner can help, drafting birth plans, breastfeeding, basic newborn care: These are things I am sure you expect from a childbirth education course, and they will certainly help you prepare for your labor and birth.

  Our Natural Childbirth preparation class is unique as it explains in detail the above and also covers when birth deviates from the "normal" and how to cope with these unexpected twists in your plan.  We believe that every new member starts a new family and these changes are easier to handle when prepared for. So for a few minutes in each class we will consider couple communication and preparing the family for the changes a brand new member brings. 

  We have also worked to provide a  childbirth class that presents difficult to grasp concepts in unique and memorable ways so that you can better recall what you need to know when the time comes. 

  Each series benefits from a little tailoring to the couples in attendance.  We do this by addressing your individual, questions, concerns, and fears surrounding labor and birth.  Listening carefully to you the parents!  We also have a fun activity exposing some of the myths associated with labor and birth in our area.

  Attending natural childbirth classes helps every mom and support person to learn about the normal processes of labor and birth, and prepare them to be an informed and confident labor support for you.  This helps you to see when your birth experience begins to deviate from normal and then you can understand your choices and better make the choices of intervention appropriate for you and your baby.

  Whether you are planning a home, birth center, or hospital birth my goal is to empower you the parents to make educated choices about your pregnancy, labor, birth and hopefully set you up for successful empowered parenting.  The choices are yours but you need to know the choices you have!!
